ATG offers
to procure all required equipment, provide the required installation
and supervisory staff and provide
project management and engineering services as part of this proposal.
Customer representatives will be involved at every phase of the
project to ensure that all requirements are met and that all last
minute changes are dealt with in a timely and cost effective manner.
Based
on our extensive facility design and project management experience,
ATG has formalized a project
plan, breaking the typical design process up into manageable and
easily trackable steps.
Client
Meeting
Believing in the importance of accurate project definition and
roles, the initial Client Meeting stage of the project is probably
one of the most important and will have a direct relation to the
success of the overall project. During this stage, Acura project
managers will ensure that all of the project goals are defined
to an adequate level of detail. Working in a round table type environment,
the customer will be assured that their true requirements are taken
to task by our Project Team.
Once
the project goals have been defined, our Project Team will begin
to specify
the customer’s particular facility requirements.
Equipment and integration decisions on issues such as edit room
layouts, router specifications, satellite receiving requirements,
etc. will “begin” at
this point in the project.
Please note that it is of critical importance for the customer
to specify the facility and project design constraints at this
stage. Identifying the true limitations of the project, including
such items as budgetary constraints, timeframe issues, construction
requirements, licensing, etc. will provide important guidelines.
With all of these items defined and documented, a clear project
path will begin to take form.
Project
Specification Development
Once the initial information gathered during the Client Meetings
has been formalized, the Acura Project Team will expand on these
initial specifications by developing a project timeline including
all identifiable and not-yet-known factors. With this timeline
drawn out, it will become easy to trace critical paths and critical
project dependencies. This living document will act to guide
both the client and the Project Team.
Once timelines and critical paths have been specified, Acura will
begin to assign resources to the project ranging from Project
Managers to installation staff. This will begin to solidify the
project timeline, and secure necessary resources.
Preliminary
Design
With the initial project specification complete, the Project Team
can move into the preliminary technical and physical design stage.
Based on client meetings and the current project specification,
the Acura design team will develop preliminary functional drawings
with equipment and rack layouts, mechanical requirements, millwork
designs, etc. The equipment specification process will also commence
to better define some of the design and functionality parameters
for the project. This iterative design process will rely heavily
on client involvement to ensure that the designs conform to the
actual parameters for the facilities. Our Project Team, as well
as the client, will reap definitive benefit from the depth of experience
and varied expertise of the Acura resource pool during this stage
of the project. Drawing on designs and concepts from hundreds of
projects in Canada, the US and abroad, the client is assured a
technologically innovative and leading edge facility.
Facility
Visit
Once the client has had opportunity to review and approve the
preliminary design package, key members of the Acura Project Team
will arrange to visit the client site to ensure that all design
issues are addressed at an early stage of the project. The physical
facility will be examined for certain broadcast critical design
items including review of the electrical system, HVAC system, mechanical
system and general construction issues. Space planning will also
be a critical portion of this project phase to ensure the best
use and end functionality.
Design
Review
Once the site visit has been completed, the preliminary designs
will be reviewed and modified to ensure that all issues have
been addressed and project goals satisfied. Once these design
revisions are complete, the client will be presented with a final
set of drawings that embrace all of the facility requirements
for approval.
One
final pass on the project schedule will ensure that all items
are given
due priority and dependencies are clearly identified.
With the equipment specifications and requirements nearing completion,
we will work with the client to ensure the required functionality
and infrastructure can be provided within the capital budgets specified.
If appropriate, we would be pleased to discuss various financing
and payment options to find a plan that suits the customer’s
requirements.
Material
Definition
Once the project designs have been approved and accepted by the
client, the Acura Project Team can now move on to fully define
and specify all required equipment. Major equipment supply requirements
can be developed at this point to ensure that all technical requirements
are adhered by the respective equipment manufacturers.
Equipment
Procurement
Once
identified, Acura offer to procure any/all equipment specified
by the customer. Based upon our history and track record with most
major broadcast manufacturers, we have negotiated satisfactory
arrangements on behalf of our end customers on all of our major
design and integration projects.
Physical
Installation
Drawing on an extensive and skilled installation resource pool,
Acura is able to ensure a high standard of installation. Because
of our longstanding commitment to maintaining high quality installation
personnel, Acura is able to draw on this pool of resources to provide
as many bodies as is necessary to complete the project in the target
timeframe.
Prospective
customers may wish to note that Acura and it’s
affiliated companies recently had 17 installation workers at separate
customer facilities, accompanied by 3 document engineers and 3
supervisory engineers.
Design
Revision
With the obvious dynamic nature of these leading edge broadcast
designs, our Project Team will ensure that the client is involved
at every stage of the facility construction and installation. Design
and facility changes will be quickly identified and rolled into
reality.
Facility
Commissioning
The
final stage of our project success path involves ensuring that
each of the original design parameters and requirements have
been satisfied. Each piece of equipment will be fully tested, configured
and/or aligned to ensure that it is ready to use. All cables and
paths will be verified to ensure continuity and signal integrity.
Functionality
Review
Our Project Team will once again meet with the client to ensure
that all of the project design parameters and functionality requirements
have been satisfied. Any outstanding issues, whether installation
or equipment related will be identified and tagged with a resolution
date. A clear path to the project completion will be defined.
Final
Documentation
A final set of drawings, configuration information and equipment
documentation will be turned over to the client team.
Project
Termination
Once each of the remaining issues have been resolved and the final
documentation turned over and approved, the project will be closed.
